Barbaresco Masterclass

Barbaresco Masterclass

In this masterclass we will be diving deep into why Barbaresco shouldn't be overlooked in favour of it's larger and more renowned neighbour Barolo, we will be looking into the history and the consumption of this incredible wine region.

This class has been created in partnership with Daniel Marcella from The Italian Wine Society to bring you the most in-depth masterclass of this appellation, aiming to spread the culture of this wine and discover its nuances. You will learn about vintages, subregions, vineyard locations, producers, MGA and more.

We will be tasting some iconic producers such as
Produttori del Barbaresco, Bruno Rocca, Dante Rivetti and more...

Daniel Marcella and Italian Wine Society
"At Italian Wine Society, we aim to increase the awareness of Italy’s magnificent wine culture. We are both a business and a community.
It is a business that specialises in the promotion of quality Italian wines in Australia, providing a set of services to producers, importers, restaurants, wine bars, sommeliers, retailers and also direct to consumers. Our members are women and men who are either already in love with, or inquisitive about Italian wines. They are also interested in wine history and the uncompromising quality of life of Italians – aka “La Dolce Vita”."

Daniel’s passion for wine and hospitality started when he was a kid in Calabria, South of Italy. Food and table etiquette were very important at home and sometimes a sip of wine was allowed, inspiring his refined palate of today.

At school, Daniel became particularly interested in Italian history. He couldn’t resist learning more about the Italian culture, art, music, politics, religion, and languages. Eager to learn even more, Daniel started travelling around Italy, region by region, town by town. Tasting the food, the wine and the peculiar feeling of every beautiful city. Learning the concept and sense of hospitality related to the emotion given by each vineyard and its products as well as all the historical, artistic, environmental, gastronomic and traditional customs of the territory in which they are produced.
