Occhipinti ‘Siccagno’ Nero d’Avola 2019

Arianna Occhipinti is an Italian winemaker and winery owner based in Vittoria, Italy.

She is based in the Cerasuolo di Vittoria DOCG, where she grows Nero d’Avola and Frappato grapes.

Occhipinti has worked in the wine industry since age 16, and has released red wine vintages under her own label starting at age 22.

Siccagno is Ariannas’ Nero d'Avola, born from that concentrated grape that is precisely called Siccagna.

It is a Nero that tells a lot about Sicily, which is wild, but also fresh and elegant, with a flavour of red fruits.

Which she feels has something noble and aristocratic, but also melancholy as a poet or a philosopher and that she also describes as  passionate, full of human warmth and contrasts.

This Nero which is the grape of her fathers, and unites Sicily from corner to corner and better captures its spirit for centuries. A wine that She loves deeply, and that has been with her since the first year.
